Reflecting on the visit, Joanna Midgley, Deputy Leader for Manchester City Council said:
Olivia Lodge is a fantastic facility providing much-needed quality accommodation for young parents and children experiencing homelessness. I really enjoyed my visit to meet the team and see the facilities on offer.
I was really impressed by the commitment of the staff to ensure that they provide holistic and person-centred support so that the young parents are able to make informed choices and gain skills and confidence. It was also lovely to speak to a young mum and her child – she really appreciated the support and facilities on site.
Thanks to the Great Places team for being a valued, trusted and innovative partner.
Andrew Gray, Director of Independence and Wellbeing at Great Places Housing Group added:
We were really pleased to welcome Councillor Joanna Midgley, Deputy Leader for Manchester City Council and Sean Bleasdale, Commissioner for Young People’s Services to our service for young women at Olivia Lodge.
We have a wide range of supported housing services across the region and Greater Manchester; we work closely with Manchester City Council on delivering very much-needed services to a range of customers and it is very encouraging when colleagues from Manchester City Council are able to visit the services, meet customers and colleagues and see the great work of the team and listen to customer’s experiences.
