Benefits and rewards at Great Places

Looking for a new career or applying for a new job is an exciting time and we are delighted that you are considering a job with Great Places. Great Places is a fantastic place to work and in order to ensure we attract and retain the best talent around, we offer a wide range of competitive benefits.

Take a look at some of the fantastic benefits and our latest video about what is on offer at The Marketplace.

Great holidays

We offer a generous holiday entitlement of 26 days plus bank holidays which increases after two years’ service. We also offer colleagues the opportunity to buy additional annual leave and if there is holiday allowance left over, you can sell your holidays back at the end of the year.

Great conditions

Salary

As a living wage employer we are committed to ensuring our colleagues receive a wage which is enough to live on. We are also a market payer within the housing sector; therefore we review and benchmark our salaries annually to ensure our pay ranges remain competitive.

Pay progression

We reward high-performing individuals for both the work they do and their behaviours. Living our vision and values is equally important at Great Places and we work hard to recognise the contribution of our colleagues.

Long service awards

Due to the variety of job roles and career paths available within Great Places, we are often fortunate to retain talent within the company; we celebrate the careers of our great colleagues.

Sharing Greatness

Our annual colleague incentive scheme allows colleagues to earn an extra £300 by helping the business achieve business targets.

Great support

Flexible working

Through GREATER Working we have introduced a smarter approach to working, enabling colleagues to work where works for them in order to achieve the things they need to at that time. We know for some roles this isn't all about home working, however we look to provide flexibility wherever possible to increase our work life balance. All colleagues also have the ability to request formal flexible working arrangements, including part time and compressed working arrangements.

Healthcare cash plan (WPA)

This is a health care cash plan paid for by Great Places. It means you can be reimbursed for money spent on dentist treatment, eye tests, complimentary therapies and much more. Cover can be increased to include family members for an additional monthly premium. WPA also offers advice and guidance on a range of topics from debt advice to legal issues.

Help with transport

We offer season ticket loans, an affordable way to purchase season tickets for public transport at discounted rates and through the Marketplace you can apply to buy a bike worth up to £1500, through our cycle to work salary-sacrifice scheme.

Health and wellbeing initiatives

Our colleagues enjoy wellbeing campaigns throughout the year, with activities designed around our four pillars of wellbeing, these include career wellbeing, mental wellbeing, physical wellbeing and financial wellbeing.

Great working

Charity days and celebration events

Our social purpose is always at the centre of what we do, we are consistently looking for ways to give back to our communities, contribute to the charities that are important to our colleagues and customers, and recognise the diversity of all our people. Our colleagues can often be found donning their wellies to help clear a park in our communities; demonstrating their baking prowess for a charity coffee morning; or waving our rainbow flags at a local Pride event.

Flexi time

Colleagues who are entitled to flexi-time have the ability to take back any additional hours they have worked as a result of increased demands in their role (such as during peak periods, or to cover colleague absence etc). Based on the extra hours worked, Flexi can provide up to 13 additional days leave across the year.

Colleague awards

Our values are important and we aim to demonstrate these every day. Our awards provide an opportunity to recognise our Great people and the amazing work that they do!

Professional fees

The business pays the cost of one professional membership fee for each colleague.

Great offers

Pension

We offer colleagues the option to set their level of Pension contribution, starting from a minimum colleague contribution of 4% and rising by 1% up to a maximum of 10%. The minimum employer contribution is currently 5%, with us then matching the colleague contribution up to a total employer contribution of 10%. We also provide a Salary Sacrifice arrangement for Colleague pension deductions which is designed to make pension contributions more affordable by reducing the National Insurance contribution you pay.

The Marketplace

Our colleagues have instant access to a range of discounts with high street retailers, big brands and boutique stores which can make a real difference for both day to day shopping or for bigger treats such as holidays. You can also apply for a Smart Tech loan or our Cycle to Work scheme via the Marketplace.

Smart tech loans

Accessed through the Marketplace you can access an interest free loan of up to £1000 (depending on salary and length of service) to purchase any technological or white goods through Currys PC world.

Lottery

Colleagues can enter into a monthly draw from as little as £1 a month where they are eligible to win one of three cash prizes of up to a £250.
