Our joint venture, Forge New Homes has been granted planning permission for its fourth development in Sheffield City Region and completed the purchase of the site from Harworth Group plc.

Its latest venture is at the heart of Harworth Group’s Olive Lane mixed-use development at Waverley, which aims to transform the area into a new sustainable community. Olive Lane will include high quality new homes, a retail scheme and medical centre.

As part of the new development, Forge plans to build 32 two and three-bedroom terraced homes at Olive Lane, a 1.5-acre site just off the A630 Sheffield Parkway. The homes will provide a distinctive offer and be available for market sale.

With strong street frontages, free-flowing layouts and a design that allows blended indoor/outdoor living, buyers will have beautiful spaces to make memories, grow families and build friendships within the local community.

The homes will have individual south-facing gardens, parking spaces with EV charging ports, and landscaped communal areas and footways.

With a focus on encouraging interaction between residents, the green community street at Olive Lane will provide an enjoyable shared space where people can connect with one another.

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) have awarded Forge New Homes grant funding from the SYMCA Brownfield Housing Fund to support the delivery of the fully electric new homes.

Work is set to start in spring 2024, with the first homes available to reserve in late 2024.

Commenting on the announcement, Andy Beattie, Director for Forge New Homes, said:

Olive Lane is a fantastic scheme by Harworth, one that will continue to transform the area and create a strong community at Waverley.

We’re delighted to have been granted planning approval to build 32 family homes by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. The development will have a focus on open space and outdoor community areas, providing a vibrant neighbourhood for buyers.

With customers at our heart, we’ll continue to build liveable spaces for thriving households and growing communities.

Peter Massie, Development Manager, Yorkshire and Central Harworth added:

Forge has a track-record of delivering high-quality homes designed for modern families, and we are very pleased to be welcoming them to our Waverley development.

These proposed homes will further add to the vibrancy of the Waverley community, with residents benefiting from extensive green space, a well-designed public realm and a range of planned and existing amenities.
