Colleagues from our frontline teams recently took to the streets of our Longridge and Shaw Heath Anchor Neighbourhood to meet with customers and get their views on the neighbourhood and what they think should be key priorities for the future.

The engagement day saw colleagues go door to door to meet with customers to get feedback on their neighbourhood. The day also marked the start of a programme of activity that will help ensure that customers’ views are at the forefront of shaping our future neighbourhood plan for Longridge and Shaw Heath. Colleagues from the Grounds Maintenance and Repairs Teams were also on hand to answer questions customers had about the services.

Commenting on the day, Rhian Stratton, Regeneration Project Director at Great Places said:

It’s been great to spend the day visiting some of our customers, who have given us some valuable insight to help us better understand what it’s like living in the neighbourhood and what people say is important to them when thinking about their future.

This year we’ll be preparing a new Neighbourhood Plan that will look to the future with people’s views always in mind. Our longer term priorities are for people, homes and the community. We will be considering matters such as the quality of the environment and outside spaces, investment in homes, how to meet our carbon reduction targets and climate change, how to plan for people’s changing housing, family and health needs, and what services or support are needed.

By considering what the priorities are, we will be able to work more closely with other organisations in Knutsford and Cheshire East to make improvements, and to access funding required to start delivering projects on the ground. It’s an exciting time and a great opportunity for people to get involved in planning for the future.

Customers who were unavailable on the day will also have the opportunity to give their views on the neighbourhood and future priorities via additional engagement activities, including the ones being planned using our new Our Voice engagement platform.

If you live in Longridge and Shaw Heath and you want to know more on how you can give us their feedback please email: involvement.team@greatplaces.org.uk
