Contents and Buildings Insurance

Great Places will make sure that the structure of your property is insured but our cover won’t include what’s inside it, like your furniture, electrical goods or personal belongings.

For example, if there was a major leak in your property which flooded your living room and caused the ceiling to collapse, Great Places Building Insurance would cover us to replace the ceiling but you would need to replace all your belongings in the room, including redecoration, which could prove quite costly. We therefore recommend that you get your personal belongings insured.

Contents Insurance

With home contents insurance, your personal belongings are insured against:

  • Accidental damage
  • Fire
  • Theft
  • Flooding / escape of water

We work with a major insurer to offer home contents insurance that can be paid in weekly instalments, at very competitive rates. Unlike some insurances, on this scheme, exclusively for Great Places customers, there are no excesses – so nothing to pay in the event of a claim.

Reasons to choose the cover:

  • It covers replacement locks and keys if they are stolen or lost
  • Being able to claim for the contents of fridge / freezer
  • Accidental damage to TV and mobile phones
  • Cover for damage to decorations from floods and leaks
  • Claiming for replacement of accidental damage of windows

Buildings Insurance claims

In the event that a repair needs a claim to be made on Buildings Insurance, the Great Places team that visits will tell you about the next steps when they visit to inspect.

Every case is different, but our colleagues will manage the paperwork, make the arrangements and guide you through the entire process. You will not be required to make the claim yourself.
