At Great Places, our mission is to create vibrant, thriving communities where everyone has the opportunity to flourish. We believe in the power of community support and the importance of investing in our customers’ neighbourhoods to create better and safer spaces for all.

This October, we were thrilled to fund a holiday provision for children in Stockport. The holiday club was free for children who either live in a Great Places homes or attend St Mary’s Primary School.

Our team paid a visit to the centre, engaging with the students and witnessing first-hand the excitement that these initiatives bring. By providing these opportunities, we aim to support families and ensure that every child has access to enriching experiences, regardless of their circumstances.

Our commitment to community support in this area is not new. For years, we have been dedicated to funding various projects and initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives. This October, we continued our tradition by funding the half-term holiday club in collaboration with Stockport County Football Club. This partnership has allowed us to offer a safe and fun environment for children during the school holidays, giving parents peace of mind and children a chance to make lasting memories.

On the morning of October 23rd, 33 students from Stockport St Mary’s Primary School, ranging in age from 4 to 12 years old, enjoyed a trip to the cinema to watch “Inside Out 2,” a fun experience that the children will remember.

As we look to the future, Great Places remains committed to supporting our communities and creating better spaces for everyone. We understand that strong communities are built on the foundation of support, engagement, and shared experiences. By continuing to invest in projects like these, we hope to foster a sense of belonging and pride in our neighbourhoods.

About this project, Peter Crean, Community Partnership Manager at Great Places, said:

‘We’re really pleased to have been able to support this project again and continue our partnership with Stockport County in the Community. The half term holidays can be challenging for parents, so it’s important that children in Great Places communities can access free and enriching holiday provision’
