Great Places is encouraging the people of Pendle to Beat the Street as the borough is transformed into a giant game board for six weeks.
Organisers of the free event are encouraging people to become more active by challenging people to see how far they can walk, cycle, run, scoot and wheel in just six weeks. There are great challenges to enjoy and prizes up for grabs.
Great Places has put £3,000 into the project, which runs from Wednesday, September 18 2024 to Wednesday, October 30 2024.
Children under the age of 11 play with a Beat the Street card they can get from school, over-12s can collect their game card from a local distribution point while older children can download the Beat the Street app.
To play, you can walk, cycle, run, scoot and wheel to Beat Boxes situated around Pendle and collect points. There are a leaderboards for individuals and for community groups and schools with prizes on offer so you can get fitter while being in the chance of a reward.
A similar project in Burnley was very successful and Pendle has the chance to Beat the Street.
