On Friday (14 March), we hosted a Greater Manchester Housing Partnership customer voice session at our Head Office with customers from across the region.
The GMHP customer voice group is made up of 24 housing organisations from across the city who work together to share knowledge and good practice for the benefit of our customers and communities. They use their collective voice to influence change on local, regional and national platforms, campaigning around areas of joint interest and benefit.
The three-hour session allowed customers to take part in focus groups to share their insight and experiences of ‘reasonable adjustments’ which looked at how landlords might change or adapt the way they deliver a service to ensure it meets a customer’s needs. Examples shared included changes in language used in communications and making sure that repair appointments are made for a certain time of the day.
Information gathered from this session will be used to support the group in producing a set of guiding principles about how GMHP members can tailor services more effectively for customers. This will support members to create and deliver their own policies, procedures and practices to ensure that tenants’ needs are placed at the heart of delivering services.
Great Places has come a long way in the last twelve months in tailoring services for customers with the launch of our Inclusive Services Team back in 2024. These guiding principles will allow us to build on this work and further meet the needs of our customers.
