Our joint venture company, Forge New Homes, recently held an event to mark the start of work on its new development on the site of the former Bolsover Hospital into an exclusive development of 58 new homes.
Known as Welbeck Gardens, the development is being delivered in partnership with the Lindum Group. The event marked the first day of construction at the scheme, which promises to deliver outright purchase and affordable homes to the area.
The development will include a range from three- and four-bedroom contemporary homes available for purchase from Forge New Homes. Wellbeck Gardens will also include three-bedroom homes available for rent from social housing provider, Together Housing Group.
The homes will be created on a 6.5-acre site well known to the local community having been the home of Bolsover Hospital for 31 years. The premises closed permanently in 2019 with the hospital moving locations, making way for Forge New Homes to bring much needed housing to Bolsover.
The development will also look to boost the local economy with new jobs set to be created onsite throughout the construction process as Andy Beattie, Managing Director at Forge New Homes, explained:

Forge New Homes purchased the site from Homes England in 2021, securing planning in 2022. The development is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.
